Dr. Kim is one of few plastic surgeons trained in the trans-umbilical breast augmentation (TUBA) procedure and is furthermore well versed in the technical nuances of facelifts, blepharoplasties, rhinoplasties, breast augmentations, breast lifts, abdominoplasties (tummy tuck), liposuctions, post bariatric procedures and Asian plastic surgery.

Dr. Kim graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California at Berkeley majoring in Molecular Cell Biology and Biochemistry where he was a National Merit Scholar and was awarded Phi Beta Kappa. He then attended medical school at the University of California at Irvine and was selected for the nationally prestigious Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) where he earned his MD and Ph.D. degrees.

At UCLA, Dr. Kim spent six years honing his surgical skills along-side some of the top plastic surgeons in the country. After completion of his plastic surgery training, Dr. Kim traveled to South Korea to further develop his surgical skills with the best plastic surgeons in Asia. It is there that Dr. Kim learned to balance his technical skill with his artistic vision. It is this level of arduous training and extensive research background that allows Dr. Steve S. Kim to critically analyze the medical literature and provide the utmost in proven, safe and effective treatments for his patients.
